I found myself a bit worried when I played last weekend up at the AIM on a certain event that made me a bit considered. More on a matter of a common safety issue where a person could have lost an eye do to he took his mask off in a middle of the game. He said a time out but not everyone heard it and was shot, but luckily in the neck and check. No eyes lost. So I guess it’s up to us to make sure that everyone there before game play understands the most important rule of protection safety. I guess not everyone knows about it.
Rather have fun playing the game and not dragging a person to the hospital with a missing eye.

Great point. I've also done the whole wipe your mask off in the middle of play, and it's stupid. That is the #1 one rule, and we all need to play that way. We ought to have a brief before we play each week, even if everyone knows.

You are absolutely right!! In Boise where I used to play, there was a briefing at the start of each session. The rules and consequences were explained, and everyone was given the option to play by them or not. One rule was that mask must be worn at all times on the field . . . if that rule was violated, the person had to sit out for two full games. Second offense called for ejection from the field for the remainder of that day. If everyone knows the rules when the game starts . . . it makes it hard to argue with the consequences.

Sure, we could tell everyone something that they should already know. I believe that was an isolated incident last Saturday, but it never hurts to go over it again. I think that most of us play together or at least have played together a few times and we kind of get used to playing by our common rules. A face mask isn't really a rule though. It's safety. No mask while you are on the field is just not safe regardless of the situation. I think everyone knows that. One thing that I really would like to see instituted is a paint check. We don't use refs so we are kind of on the honor system, but I have played with people who don't have much honor. Calling a paint check institutes a small timeout that only concerns those engaged in that specific firefight. It's a few seconds of checking to make sure neither of you are hit. No one can use it to gain advantage or to change position. If that happens then I would probably just shoot until the kid screams that he is out. Either way, it's just a thought.

Paint check is a excellent idea. Give you the chance to tell the other player where you think you got him so they don’t keep playing with a big bright head shot that they some how missed.

One other thing I have to pick out that can be a safety issue is barrel plugs. If you got them, please people use them.
Other then that its been good.

Yea Safety should for sure be a big thing especially since the group size can get up there pretty high.

Also, just a quick side note. I'm hoping to be able to get a little sign up above AMI tomorrow (friday) telling anyone that shows up up there that we are playing over by stinker. Not sure if i'll be able to do it, but I thought that might help out a bit.

Do you guys have a chrono? I played with some guys once and thought he might be "a little hot". We chrono'd him 378 fps!

Sometimes someone shows up with one. We just depend on people to have it done before they play. But if someone seems a little hot we let them know.
